CARLOS SALVATORI
SENIOR ADVISOR
Carlos Salvatori has worked extensively in financial
services for international banks, global custodians,
clearing and settlement organizations, international and
domestic depositories, cash management and international
money transfers global banks.
Carlos has a unique blend of marketing savvy and
operational expertise. He has a proven record of
structuring, negotiating, and executing strategic deals
and alliances including Clearstream International and
Monte Titoli in Italy, the International Securities
Clearing Corporation and Citibank in USA, SIS of
Switzerland, and Citibank USA and Cedel International
and Deutsche Bourse Clearing Corporation in Luxembourg.
Carlos led the strategy
development and implementation of Citibanks Global
Money Transfers business and World-Wide Securities
Services. In
both cases, Carlos was responsible for managing the roll
over for these global strategies in more than 50 countries
around the world, including the design and implementation
of global computerized systems.
Both systems used state-of-the-art technologies,
which allowed Citibank to transform the cost structure of
the businesses and seize market share, while creating
sustainable competitive advantage.
Similarly, Carlos designed and implemented the next
generation of Clearing and Settlement Systems for Cedel
International, working in partnership with Anderson
Consulting, Perot Systems, and the Capital Markets Group (CAPCO).
Carlos worked over 30 years for
Citibank around the world: Argentina, England, Greece, New
York, and Luxembourg.
He was the head of Citibanks International Money
Transfers and Cash Management, and their Global Securities
Businesses in over 50 countries.
He was Management Board member of
Cedel International in charge of marketing, sales and
operations, and subsequently acted as Deputy to the CEO,
and after the merger with Deutsche Bourse Clearing, he
became the Head of the Office of the President and CEO of
Clearstream International.
Carlos is well known in the
industry, and held several board positions.
He was a member of the Board of Directors for both
the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) and
the International Securities Clearing Corporation (ISCC).
He was also a member of the Board of the
Participants Trust Company (PTC) and MIT Sloan School of
Management. Recently,
Carlos was a member of ECSDA (European Central
Securities Depositaries Association) Management Committee.
Carlos has a Masters
Degree in Management Science from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was invited for
twelve years as a guest lecturer in the field of
Operations Management in the Services Industry.
